Your first encounter with Uganda’s wildlife will be at the celebrated Uganda Wildlife Education Center (UWEC), famously known as the ‘Entebbe zoo’. Only a few minutes drive from the airport, the zoo is the best place to begin an African lions adventure tour in Uganda. You will spend the entire afternoon exploring the zoo and its untamed wildlife residents.

After your adventure at the zoo, you will transfer to the nearby Mabamba bay. The wetland is situated on the edge of Lake Victoria, northwest of the Entebbe peninsula. You will see bird species like; the shoe bill stork, blue swallow, papyrus gonolek, yellow warbler, kingfisher, lap wines, herons and egrets. Mabamba bay is a habitat to over 150 bird species. As the day wanes, you will drive to a comfortable lodging in Entebbe for dinner and overnight.

Day 2Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park – explore Nyero rock paintings en-route

After having breakfast, your African lion safari excursions will continue as you embark on a drive to Uganda’s celebrated Kidepo Valley National Park situated in Karamoja region in the North-eastern Uganda. On your way to the park, you will make a brief stop in Kumi district to explore the famous Nyero rock paintings. Although it is Uganda’s most remote national park, Kidepo Valley ranks among Africa’s finest wildernesses. It is a habitat to an innumerable number of mammals and wildlife species, including a good population of lions.

Day 3Game drive in Kidepo Valley National Park – Visit the native Karamojong community

You will begin your day’s African lions adventure with an early breakfast before heading out for a game drive in the park’s famous Narus and Kidepo valleys. Cattle keeping and pastoral-ism is the life of the Karamojong people. You will be inspired by their culture and way of life. Your day’s African lions safari adventure will end as you drive back to your lodging in the late evening.
